Indoor Color Guard

ITYS was founded in 2008 with the commitment to making Indoor Color Guard accessible to youth and adults in the greater Baltimore area.  ITYS is part of the Greater Pikesville Recreational Council, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Indoor Color Guard is an exciting activity that combines athleticism with art, bringing music and dance together with equipment derived from its military color guard roots: flags, rifles and sabers.  As a competitive team sport, Indoor Color Guard not only builds the technical skills of its performers, it also develops critical life skills such as teamwork, communication, creativity and self-confidence.  Indoor Color Guard is often referred to in the activity as the "Sport of the Arts".
