Benefits of Chess
  • Improves concentration
  • Significantly improves motivation
  • Promotes critical thinking
  • Has been known to increase grades in school

Some of the schools that Arkadiy has taught or is teaching this year are:
  • Park School
  • Ilchester Elementary
  • McDonogh School
  • Montgomery County Public Schools

The program:
Our lessons are one hour long. Students are exposed to the foundational theory of chess in the
first half of the lesson. During the second half, students can then apply their newly acquired
knowledge in playing with other class mates. While the kids are engaged in critical thought, the
instructor provides helpful tactical ideas and suggestions to improve their strategies.

Students will be constantly challenged as they learn to play chess with national chess master,
Arkadiy Frenkel. Chess is gymnastics for the brain and studying the game is known to show
significant improvement in school grades and academic activities. Young players will be taught
strategies and tactics that will help them on the board and in life. Arkadiy has over 30 years of
international experience and has taught at chess camps, schools and programs in Maryland,
Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
